BPF provides training in small groups directed by local tutors throughout the UK. Seminars are presented in separate modules and are preceded by a Being & Doing course that lays a foundation for the seminars. The complete course consists of 100 hours of tutor contact in small groups.
Experiential learning in seminars develops self awareness for effective pastoral work and teaches theory and practice of pastoral care with counselling skills in the context of the faith. A Foundation Certificate on completion of modules is available for external accreditation or a personal training portfolio.
Seminar member are often people who want to help others and are aware that they need more resources to do so. People wanting to further their development for personal and professional reasons, may include pastoral caregivers, counsellors, therapists, clergy, health care persons, social workers, teachers and members of befriending organisations.
