Group Work Gathering details

Deep down all human beings need the security of belonging. Most of us find ourselves longing for that sense of acceptance and belonging at some time or another in our lives.

Even if this need was met in good enough ways in infancy and even before birth, external circumstances as well as later personal experience can lead to difficulties in later life that shake our sense of security and belonging. And we know that the struggle to belong gladly and wholeheartedly throughout life can have its root in very early adverse experience which can be hard to deal with and challenging to overcome.

The Gathering begins at 3pm on Tuesday October 15th 2019 and finishes after lunch on Friday 18th. Arrivals and registrations are from 2.00pm.

The work of the conference takes place within a programme of experiential plenaries, small personal growth groups, morning and evening worship and meditation and social occasions.

Sessions in the large group will focus on the theme of the conference. There will also be time for personal reflection and meditation and walking in the beautiful setting of St Mary's.

The conference is open to all, whether members of BPF or not, clergy or lay, professionals working in the 'talking' professions or those engaged in pastoral visiting within their local church or community, or those simply seeking space for reflection and personal growth in an ethos of Christian spirituality. Although the conference has a Christian basis, those of other faiths (or none) are also valued.

St Mary's Kinnoull is an ecumenical multi-cultural ecumenical Centre of Spirituality run by the Roman Catholic Redemptorist community set within beautiful grounds with easy access to the woodland of Kinnoull Hill.

A certificate of attendance denoting hours and broad content is provided for CPD purposes.
