Key speakers
Brian Thorne (FBACP) is an international figure in the world of Person-Centred Psychotherapy and scholarship. He is also a prominent layman in the
Church of England and a lay canon of Norwich Cathedral. His prolific writings
seek to show the integration of his theological, psychological and spiritual
understanding of the human person.
Brian has recently retired from most public engagements and we are very fortunate to have his contribution at this BPF 50th Anniversary Conference.
Janet Lake (MBACP Sen. Accred.) has worked in the areas of Pastoral
and Spiritual Care and Counselling since 1970 and was once a consultant for
the Clinical Theology Association (former name of BPF). Her main interest is in
exploring how the resources of the spiritual and psychotherapeutic traditions can
be used together creatively in our search for wholeness.
Currently she runs a small sanctuary house of prayer in Dorset.
Both Janet and Brian are Patrons of BPF.
